Product overview and getting-started guide

Pixa SACCO is a cloud platform for savings and credit cooperatives (SACCOS), workplace savings groups, microfinance-style operations, and similar organizations. This page summarizes how the product is organized, what each area is for, and how your team can roll out successfully. Your organization may enable only some modules depending on your subscription and configuration.

Who does what

  • Organization administrators configure settings, users, policies, and high-level parameters. They are responsible for access control and member data quality.
  • Staff perform day-to-day operations such as recording savings transactions, processing loan workflows, and managing expenses according to permissions.
  • Members (when given portal access) can typically view their own savings, loans, and profile information; capabilities depend on your organization's policy setup.
  • Auditors may have read-focused access to reports and activity for oversight, where your plan supports it.

Members

Maintain your member register: demographics, contacts, next of kin, employment, and links to user accounts where members sign in. New members can be added manually or through your organization's registration flows. Keep data accurate—downstream savings, loans, and dividends rely on it.

Savings

Track member savings accounts, deposits, withdrawals, and balances. Use the product to record transactions in line with your internal policies; reconcile periodically with physical cash and bank statements. Deposit requests (if enabled) let members propose deposits for staff approval.

Loans & loan products

Define loan products (interest, term, eligibility rules) and manage applications, approvals, disbursements, and repayments. Ensure your configured rates and fees comply with local law and your bylaws. Loan officers should follow your credit committee procedures outside the software as well as inside it.

Reports & analytics

Use dashboards and reports for portfolio health, savings trends, and operational KPIs. Export or print where needed for meetings and regulators. Reports reflect data entered in the system—validate figures before filing official returns.

Settings, users & policies

Organization settings control currency, branding, and subscription context. User management assigns roles and (where used) permission policies so staff only see what they need. Review inactive users and rotate access when people change roles.

Other modules you may see

Depending on configuration, your workspace may also include expenses, share capital, dividends, subscription and billing, and administrative tools. Each module follows the same pattern: configure under settings, record transactions with proper approvals, then use reports to verify outcomes.

Security good practice

  • Use strong, unique passwords and your organization's password policy.
  • Sign out on shared computers; do not share individual login credentials.
  • Report suspicious activity to your administrator immediately.
  • Keep browsers updated; avoid accessing the platform from untrusted networks when handling sensitive data.
